Akeeba Backup Core is a complete solution for your website backup. Like JoomlaPack Component, Akeeba Backup takes the complete backup of your website which you can restore at any time. Akeeba Backup core is an open source component for Joomla CMS.
This extension takes the backup of all the files and database in a single archive. Bothe the restore and backup processess are ajax powered which avoid the server timeouts. You also have to option to take partial backups like only the backup of the files or database.
This extension has already won the J.O.S.C.A.R Award at J and beyond 2010. Only the 3.2.b1 and later versions work with Joomla 1.6 the earleir versions won’t work with Joomla 1.6.
The archives can be stored with any host or even on the local testing server (XAMPP, WAMPServer, MAMP, Zend Server). You dont need to unzip the backup. You can even make the backup using cell phone by using the lite mode. Akeeba Backup core requires PHP5. Please upgrade to PHP5 if your server is using PHP4.
